Arrochar run

First time in the Arrochar hills for a few months. Set off before 8 on the Glen Loin trail , through Coiregrogaion to the foot of Ben Vane, a new path has been constructed, starts less than 100 yards past the usual one, avoids the boggy start and the steep eroded bank rejoining the track on the small plateau, evidence of path work continues as you climb, hopefully not too many steps.

Weather fine until the top third of Vane, jacket on in the rain and wind.

Don't hang around on top, gloves on now as well, drop off the back along the ridge until past the large balance stone then swing left on gentler slopes.

Easy run down grassy ramps arriving in Lag Uaine as the sky clears and the sun comes out. About half way up and the clouds roll in again, no rain this time, just damp cloud and a cool breeze.

Pick a sheltered route up popping out into the wind a few minutes from the top, same routine as Vanes summit and run off down the track to Bealach A'Mhaim.

Cross the Bealach, path joins the Cobbler access path and much busier now.

Pass 150 or so walkers going up and down, contrast to the peace and quiet of my route over Vane and Ime, good run finishing inside 4 1/2 hours, car park now full to overflowing, parking tickets aplenty.
