Moray Coastal Trail
Annual holiday at Silversands at Covesea, just along the beach from Lossiemouth, ran the Moray Coastal Trail along to Burghead and back, passing through Hopeman, beach to start then undulating clifftop running, great views, past Hopeman low level beach and trail, with a short section of tarmac before Burghead, climbed the Pictish fort before setting off on the return to Covesea, finished inside 3 hours with a swim in the Moray Firth.

Lossiemouth 2011
Annual trip to Silver Sands, Covesea, Lossie, relaxed beach and cliff top runs every couple of days, took in the local sights, Shells, Jellyfish, Sea Potato Test complete with occupant and fur! Not so many jets this year but some tight turns and night flights helped to compensate. Managed a few swims in the Moray Firth as well. A couple of games of Golf, 18 holes at Hopeman and 27 hoels at the re-opened Covesea 9 hole links course at the end of the beach. Camp site still in administration it would be a shame if it closes as there are few other sites with the location, space and easy going approach.

Lossiemouth Aug 09
Annual holiday in Lossie at Silver Sands, yes the one in the news with the scam Caravan Sales. The Site was the busiest we had seen it in the last 10 years. Weather good as it always is in the magic circle...forecast rain, showers etc, actual sun, sun, sun.
Ran every couple of days, 2 hour clifftop run to Hopeman and back was the longest, a couple of easy 5 mile beach runs and 3 hill rep runs, all finished with a swim in the sea.
There were 14 of us.....

As well as shopping in Tesco, Chinese Buffets and watching the jets we partook in all the usual Lossie activities;
Watching the sunset....

The Beach.....about 3 or 4 miles long with a nice wee track up a hill at the end to take you onto the clifftops and the Moray Coastal Trail, perfect for hill reps.

Andrews 15th birthday....poor wee lamb, 9 out of his last 10 birthdays have been in a tent at Lossie

Golf, a round at nearby Hopeman, a links course where we saw former Open Champ Paul Lawrie playing in an exhibition match, Andrew is teeing off at the par 3 12th, "Prieshach"....

Duffus Castle....

Who will be back next year, will they let us in, these and other interesting questions may be answered when we feel like it.

Lossiemouth Aug 08

Sun 3rd to Wed 13th for the annual camping holiday at Silver Sands, Covesea, Lossiemouth. The 2-3 mile long beach great for running but over the years I've noticed running on sand is very tiring and also suffered from sore quads the week after so now I take most runs easy with no real problems.
One lap every day or two and a doubler at the weekend, some hill reps and a tempo run thrown in for fun and each run followed with a swim / body surf in the waves.
Andrews birthday as usual so another camp birthday with party games....pass the parcel, statues etc until they reminded us they were 14 not 4!
Camp show also being disrupted as the children are "too old" and most slots now filled with adults.
Visit to Duffus Castle is a favourite, nice and peaceful and with enough features and info to give a good insight into how they lived, ok if you are the Lord!Watched the Elgin / Dumbarton league match on Saturday, the Sons getting a draw for their travelling Apache supporters. Weather good with the usual Moray Firth dry/cloud free bubble giving great views of the meteor shower and no real wind for a change either.
Some more photos in the Galleria.

Lossie Beach Runs to 9th Aug
On holiday at Lossiemouth and after the Ben Rinnes race had a relaxing fortnight at Silver Sands campsite. A run along the 3 mile beach every couple of days followed by a swim in the N Sea to keep things ticking over. A few pics to follow in the galleria.
