Appin Show hill race, short and steep, 30 or so runners set off in the sun, started at the back then reeled a few in as the climb started, jog walk to the top then push as fast as I can on the way down, the track is very rough so always slower than I would like , at least no face plants this year! Passed a couple at the bottom of the hill, nearly another at the line with a wee sprint up the games field. Good day.

Beinn Donn, Appin Show Hill Race
Back at the Appin Show, dry on the day but a wet week meant a muddy course. About 18 of us set off from the middle of the show field, started near the back, passed a couple as we started to climb through fields at the bottom of the hill, onto the open hillside a muddy rutted track winds up the hill onto the ridge, leave the track through tussocks for a short steep climb to the flagged turning point. Picked up a bit of pace on the way down, a bit wary of the ruts and holes, managed to catch a couple of other runners on the way back with a face plant between overtakes, thankfully soft mud and no rocks. Finished in about 11th or 12th place about 30 seconds slower than last year, short sharp race, good fun.

Appin Agricultural Show
Visited Appin Show again, first time was 2019, lots of show activities, Sheep and Cattle, arts and crafts, tractors and steam engines and duck races, missed the ferret races this year. Oh and a hill race up and down Beinn Donn behind the show field. This years race had a few more real runners, set off at the back, managed to overtake 2 on the way up and only one on the way down, it's a deceptively hard track to run down quickly. Finished with a refreshment in the beer and then Prosecco/Cocktail tent before a wee ceilidh in the village hall at night.
